"Stand Up Dramedy"
Eight-Week Classes Start Wednesday, March 16, 2011 and Saturday, March 19, 2011.
It seems that often in television and film, I was cast as a comedic character in a drama or I would play a dramatic scene in a comedic show. The focus in our 2011 spring session will be to have students develop comedic moments in dramatic scripts and to make real the more dramatic moments in lighter comedy pieces. Students will learn how to write their own monologues that include both a bit of comedy and drama. Classes will be held in Falls Church, Virginia near the East Falls Church Metro Station. At the end of the eight-week course, both Wednesday and Saturday classes will combine to perform a final show at the Ballston Comedy Spot in Arlington, Virginia on Wednesday night, May 11, 2011.

**** PLEASE NOTE: There will be no classes in the week leading up to EASTER. So there will be no classes on either Wed. April 20th or on Saturday, April 23. We MAY do a special spot check of monologues at the theater on from 3 PM to 6 PM on Sunday, May 8th which is the afternoon of Mother's Day. Appointments will be given to students to come do their monologue to be familiar with the theater, and then they may leave.
**** Sign ups for the Spring Session begin Feb. 16th. Classes do fill up quickly! Registration is only confirmed upon receipt of a check for tuition. It is first come, first serve. After that, we can take names from a waiting list. Wednesday classes will start on March 16th and Saturday classes will start on March 19th.
Our boutique acting school offers small classes that do fill up quickly. There are only 10 to 12 students per class in order to give individual attention and enough time for each student to perform.
Because we need to pay for class room rental in advance, tuition is not refundable and not transferrable. To find out if there is a waiting list due to any last-minute vacancies,
